You are finally ready to dip your toes into entrepreneurship, whether that’s just starting one on the side or full-blown diving right in. Whatever the case might be, you are probably wondering – how do you find clients? That’s exactly how I felt when I first started, so here are 3 tips to help you land your very first clients:
1. Create a community
Most people who start a business attempt to do it all. What I mean is that they think they have to end up on every social media platform and show up every single day, which eventually just leads to burnout. What you should be focusing on to get clients is creating an engaging community who cares about what you have to say. The best way of doing that is picking 1 or 2 social platforms you think your audience hangs out, and then focus on providing the best quality content you can.
2. Start a blog
There is always back and forth about if a blog makes sense for your business. Although it’s not relevant for everyone, it is if you are a service provider. A website and a blog can help potential clients learn more about you, all while seeing what you are an expert in. Here are a few more reasons why all business owners should have a blog.
3. Engage, engage, engage!
When you aren’t focusing on creating amazing content to show off your expertise, take time to engage with others! Whether it’s on your own business pages or theirs, it’s a great way to build relationships with those you want to attract. One of the biggest missed opportunities is not replying back to someone or ghosting, so always make sure to carve out time in your day to make your community feel important.
